About The Evergreen Door

The Evergreen Door is an independent magazine about fresh evergreen wreaths and holiday greenery. It explains how a wreath is built, what the different boughs do, how to choose and care for fresh greenery, and how the fundraiser and wholesale trade that moves it each season actually works.

What the magazine covers

The site is organised into three sections. Making and Materials covers the boughs, the frame and the bench, including how a wreath is wired and how swags and garland are measured. Choosing and Giving covers the buyer's side: freshness checks, fresh against artificial, corporate gifts and hanging. Fundraisers and Wholesale covers the group campaigns and bulk buying that put fresh greenery on thousands of doors each December.

How the guides are written

Every guide is written in the third person. The magazine reports on a trade; it does not sell wreaths, take a commission, or speak for any grower, workshop, wholesaler or charity. Where a page cites a source, the source is named in the text so a reader can check it. Where a figure is not published, the guide says so rather than guessing.

The guides avoid promises about price, delivery or quality that depend on a particular seller. Those things change from season to season and from supplier to supplier, and a magazine is not the right place to fix them. What the guides do aim to give is the reasoning behind the product, so a reader can judge a wreath, a price or a programme for themselves.

Who it is for

The Evergreen Door is written for people buying greenery for a home, volunteers running a school or charity fundraiser, and shops or resellers buying by the case. The three audiences ask different questions, which is why the site is divided by section rather than by product. A reader who wants to know whether a wreath is fresh is served by the choosing section. A reader who wants to know how a fundraiser earns is served by the trade section.

Editorial independence

The site is edited by The Evergreen Door editorial team and published at giftwreath.com. It is not affiliated with any supplier, and no page is sponsored. If that ever changes for a specific page, the page will say so plainly.

Corrections are welcome and are handled through the contact page. If a guide contains a number that has changed, a source that has moved, or an explanation that is unclear, a short email is enough to start a correction.
